Sinus Lifting
The air spaces placed on the right and left upper big molar zones of the upper jaw are the maxillary sinuses which are responsible for voice echo and reducing the weight of the head. When the teeth right under our sinuses are extracted, the floor of sinus drops towards the dental gap left by extraction over time and the bone volume in the area is reduced. This volume is insufficient for the implants we wish to fully embed inside the bone and it leads the treatment to end up unsuccessfully. In such cases, the procedure of opening the floor of sinus surgically and lifting it is called sinus lifting. Sinus lifting is a pain free procedure which takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes and performed with local anesthesia. In cases where there is sufficient volume of bone, the dental implants can be placed within the same session and this process extends the duration of the procedure by 4 to 5 minutes.
