Does Teeth Whitening Damage Teeth?
In the teeth whitening process applied under the control of a dentist, the dentist applies the appropriate amount of whitening material onto the teeth. This teeth whitening treatment applied under the supervision of a dentist at a clinic certainly does not lead to a permanent damage (abrasion, cavities, breakage) on teeth. Sometimes, tingling or sensitivity to extreme cold can occur during the treatment. This sensitivity is eliminated by special medications and chemicals used by the dentist.
How Long Does the Teeth Whitening Process Last?
Depending on the person’s eating habits, oral care and cigarette consumption, it is possible to use whitened teeth healthily for one to three years approximately. After this period of time, the teeth are whitened again with a reinforcement session to be applied. The change of color which occurs in teeth within this period of time is not a complete return to their former color. They may only get a shade or two darker depending on usage.
